VEAP Giving Garden

For more than 17 years, the VEAP Giving Garden at St. Ed’s has grown fresh produce for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. This video tells the story of the garden’s revitalization, from the challenges that prompted its redesign to the community effort that brought a more accessible, productive growing space to life.

Featuring interviews with parish community members, the video highlights the construction of new raised garden beds, the contributions of parish staff and volunteers, and the generosity of donors who helped fund the project. It also recognizes the support of Gardens for Good, a University of Minnesota Extension program, in providing essential supplies and plants.

Beyond the garden’s physical transformation, the video celebrates the power of shared service to bring people together. It invites parishioners to get involved through Wine & Weeding, a casual weekly gathering centered on gardening, fellowship, and community.

The result is a story about generosity in action—and how a shared commitment to helping others can grow something meaningful for an entire community.
